“A rousing success” describes the 2016 Leadership Institute!

“A rousing success” describes the 2016 Leadership Institute!! More than 90 students representing 35 school districts or organizations presented in 71 sessions at the Institute, hosted by CSU East Bay’s Center for Research, Equity and Collaborative Engagement (CRECE) and the Department of Educational Leadership (DEL). Many thanks to our three school district superintendents, Dr. Hilaria Bauer, Mr. Stan Dobbs, and Dr. Nellie Meyer for informing us of their work and inspiring us to continue a focus on equity and social justice in our schools. Additionally, our students had an opportunity to engage with more than 20 K-12 administrators from throughout the Bay Area who attended the Institute.

The opening session featured CSU East Bay President Leroy Morishita, Ed.D. as he shared his passion for education and commended our students for their fine work. Many thanks to President Morishita, Interim Provost Carolyn Nelson, Ed.D for joining the 260 attendees at this year’s Institute. We greatly appreciated the attendance of our faculty — they were at the Institute in full force! Finally, a huge thank you to our students. You continue to amaze and delight us with your outstanding work, professionalism, and most importantly, your dedication to equity and social justice.
